Inaugurating the sphere’s largest meditation centre Swarved Mahamandir in Varanasi on December 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the nation has declared freedom from the slave mentality and is feeling happy with its heritage.

“In the period of slavery, the oppressors who made an effort to weaken India first targeted our symbols. After Independence, re-building of these cultural symbols used to be crucial,” he acknowledged.

Following the inauguration of the Swarved Mahamandir, PM Modi along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a tour of the centre that can seat 20,000 of us at a time for meditation. Verses of the Swarveda were carved upon the partitions of the Mahamandir – a seven-ground superstructure.

Mr. Adityanath, who attended the inauguration of the Swarved Mahamandir, supplied prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Kaal Bhairav Temple within the morning.
